Language is about
communication, so General English classes will help you to
use the language in real situations and develop confidence to communicate more fluently in English.
The six distinct elements which make up our General English programme are designed to give you practical language skills to help you succeed in the future.
Our weekly intensive programme consist of:
Guided individual learning and tutorials: with the help of your teacher you identify your personal learning goals, and decide on ways to work towards them both in class and out of class. You also will discuss your individual progress with your teacher.
Fluency focus (task):
in this class you perform a communicative task where you interact with other students to practise spoken English in a variety of ways such as debate, role play, discussion with your partner or in a group. This will help to improve your fluency and performance skills.
Skills focus: this class is designed to encourage you to practise and develop a particular skill (reading, writing, listening and speaking). Teachers liaise with each other to select appropriate skills based on the task from the previous day.
Language focus (consolidation): you work on areas of language (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation) identified from the tasks. This improves your accuracy and further develops your fluency through a wide variety of practice activities and input.
Project work: in these afternoon sessions you have the chance to put into practice your language skills and build up confidence through a range of daily tasks working towards a weekly project.
If you join our semi-intensive course of 15 hours per week, your lessons will finish at 12.45 with the language focus consolidation session.
