Oxford is surrounded by interesting, historical towns such as: Woodstock, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and Bath.
Woodstock is situated about 20 minutes bus ride to the north west of Oxford. It's famous because Sir Winston Churchill (British Prime Minister) was born there and it also has beautiful parks and gardens.
Stratford-upon-Avon is the birthplace of Shakespeare and the home of The Royal Shakespeare Company. You can go either by bus or train or you can book an excursion with us.
If you want to know how was life in Britain in medieval times, you can visit Warwick Castle.
Its history stretches back almost 1100 years when it was built to protect the small hill-top settlement of Warwick from Danish invaders. Going by train takes just 45 minutes or book an excursion with us and we'll arrange everything.
Even London is not far, there're trains to London every 20 minutes at the weekends.
If you are interested in culture, London's famous museums and art galleries are waiting for you. If you prefer just wandering around, there are beautiful parks like Hyde Park, Green Park and St. James' Park or you can go shopping in Oxford Street, Camden Market and Portobello Road.
The city of Bath is also close enough to visit easily. It's famous because of its Roman baths, which you can still visit, and beautiful architecture.
If you are thinking of taking a short break during a weekend, the nearest European cities are Edinburgh, Paris and Brussels.
So you see, there's an advantage being in the middle of England because you can get almost anywhere quite easily from Oxford!
